Carbon Chaise Longue Prototype | For Carpenters Workshop Gallery

A rectangular hollow sculptural form with the top surface formed to support one in reclining comfort. The outer surface, the carbon fibre skin, is the structure which emphasises its authenticity. The inner void is lacquered a subtle champagne gold. The carbon body flexes slightly to offer comfort on which is otherwise a hard surface
A cylindrical leather adjustable headrest (not shown) is held in position by hidden magnets. Thin strips of iron are moulded in just below the carbon fibre surface to attract the magnets.
The future editions will have the outer surface finished in recycled carbon fibre.
A collaboration with F1 design engineer John Barnard RDI.
