Duo | Sofa for The Royal Opera House, London

The Duo Sofa formed part of London Design Festival 2019 Legacy project, supported by the American Hardwood Export Council. I was assigned by Ben Evans, Director of LDF to design a sofa in Red Oak for the meeting room of Alex Beard, director of the Royal Opera House.

The original brief was for a bench in red oak, but when I met with Alex Beard in his office, I thought a bench would be too uncomfortable for his guests. So, I challenged the brief and presented a sofa with a minimal wooden structure with seat and back in soft leather.  I wanted to create a delicate, graceful looking structure
